Cheeseburger Skillet Bacon (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
02 - 1 tablespoon fresh garlic, minced
03 - 2 cups beef broth
04 - 8 ounces tomato sauce
05 - 2 cups instant rice
06 - 1/4 cup ketchup
07 - 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
08 - 1 cup cooked beef bacon, chopped
09 - 1/2 medium yellow onion, diced
10 - 1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend)
11 - 1 tablespoon yellow mustard

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Take off the lid, scoop into bowls, and serve up while it's still nice and hot. Make sure everyone gets plenty of that melted cheese and bacon on top.
02 - Sprinkle the rest of the cheese and bacon over everything. Toss the lid back on and let all that heat melt the cheese for two or three minutes.
03 - Turn off the heat and toss in half of your chopped bacon and half the cheese. Give it a stir until the cheese melts into the mix.
04 - Dial the heat down so it’s just barely bubbling. Let it cook for a couple minutes. Stir every so often until the rice is nice and soft and the liquids are soaked up.
05 - Go ahead and add in your mustard, ketchup, beef broth, instant rice, and tomato sauce. Stir so everything's well mixed.
06 - Add in your minced garlic and let it sizzle until it smells good, about a minute or so. Drain off most of the fat. Mix in your seasoned salt so it’s spread around.
07 - Grab a large skillet and put it on medium-high heat. Toss in your ground beef and diced onions. Cook it for 6-8 minutes, breaking up the meat, until everything’s browned and soft.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Go with quick-cooking rice so everything soaks up flavor fast and cooks up easy.
02 - Prep your bacon ahead of time and wait until it's cooled off a bit, then chop it up for a crispy bite.
03 - Pour out the grease after the beef is browned so it doesn’t turn out heavy or oily.
04 - Ketchup and mustard really make it taste just like a cheeseburger.
05 - Save leftovers for tomorrow—they heat up well in the microwave.
