Orange Chicken Baked (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Chicken Ingredients

01 - 1 tablespoon vegetable oil, split between steps
02 - 2 large eggs, whisked well
03 - 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
04 - 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
05 - 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs, sliced up

→ Orange Sauce Mix

06 - zest of a whole orange
07 - 10 tablespoons distilled white vinegar
08 - 10 tablespoons sugar
09 - 3 tablespoons soy sauce, low sodium
10 - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
11 - 1/4 cup orange juice, squeezed fresh
12 - 2 tablespoons dry white wine or rice wine
13 - 1 tablespoon cornstarch
14 - 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
15 - 2 teaspoons minced garlic
16 - 1 1/2 tablespoons minced ginger

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Flip the oven to 400°F (204°C) first. Run the panko in a food processor until it's super fine.
02 - Take four bowls and fill one with the ground panko, another with your chicken bites, a third with flour, and the last with your beaten eggs.
03 - First dunk chicken chunks in the flour, then the eggs, and roll them through the panko. Lay them on a baking sheet, then add a little oil with a brush or spray.
04 - Slide the chicken in to bake for 20–25 minutes. You want them golden and all the way done.
05 - While the chicken goes, pour the rest of the vegetable oil into a saucepan over medium. Toss in the garlic, ginger, and red pepper; stir for half a minute until you can really smell it.
06 - Pour in the cornstarch, wine, orange juice, sesame oil, soy sauce, sugar, vinegar, and orange zest. Let it bubble and cook till the mixture thickens. Take it off the heat.
07 - Mix those baked chicken bites with your orange sauce, making sure they're covered all over, and dig in right away.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Want the crunchiest chicken? Give the pieces room on the tray, don't crowd them, and flip them partway for even crisp.
