Churro French Toast (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Cinnamon Sugar Coating

01 - 1/2 cup regular sugar
02 - 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

→ French Toast

03 - 8 thick bread pieces—brioche or Texas toast works
04 - 2 big eggs
05 - 1/2 cup milk
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla—use liquid extract
07 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
08 - 2 tablespoons plain sugar
09 - Pinch of salt
10 - 2 tablespoons butter for frying

→ Filling

11 - 4 ounces cream cheese, let it sit to soften
12 - 2 tablespoons icing sugar
13 - 1/2 teaspoon vanilla essence

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Stir the softened cream cheese, vanilla, and powdered sugar in a bowl until it’s totally smooth and fluffy.
02 - Slather your cream cheese filling on four bread slices then cap off with the other four slices so they’re paired up.
03 - Whisk together your milk, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, salt, and some vanilla in a wide bowl until no clumps are left.
04 - Quickly dip both sides of each sandwich into the egg mix—just long enough to wet it, don’t leave it in or it’ll turn soggy.
05 - Set a non-stick skillet over medium. Melt your butter and fry those sandwiches until each side is a lovely golden brown, which should be 3 or 4 minutes for each.
06 - Grab a wide shallow bowl and combine sugar with the cinnamon until it’s one color and smells great.
07 - As soon as each sandwich is done frying, roll it around in your cinnamon-sugar mix so it’s all dusted.
08 - Best served straight out of the pan. Splash with syrup, drizzle chocolate, or drop on some whipped cream if you feel fancy.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Sprinkle in a touch of fresh nutmeg when making your egg mix for a tasty twist.
02 - These are tastiest hot, but extras can chill covered in the fridge a day and crisp up again in your oven.
03 - Get creative with the middle—jam, peanut butter, or Nutella swap in instead of cream cheese easily.
