Delicious Chicken Bacon Ranch Loaf

As seen in Satisfying Entrées for Every Table.

This tasty loaf mixes crispy beef bacon, juicy chicken, and a creamy ranch filling tucked inside hollowed-out Italian bread. The filling gets extra flavor from chive and onion cream cheese, plus garlic salt and onion powder. Colby-Jack cheese melts inside to make it nice and gooey. After putting it all together and sealing the bread, it’s brushed with butter and baked till the outside is crisp and golden. Great for sharing as a main or starter, this dish packs bold and comfy flavors in every bite.

I love using Colby-Jack here because it melts just right without taking over the flavors. Once I took this on a picnic on a busy weekend and everyone kept talking about how easy yet tasty it was outside.

Common Recipe Questions

→ Which bread is best for this?

A firm Italian loaf works best because it holds the filling without getting soggy and crisps up nicely while baking.

→ Can I swap the beef bacon for something else?

Yeah, turkey bacon or pancetta both work well and give a slightly different flavor but similar saltiness and texture.

→ How do I make the filling hotter?

Try mixing in red pepper flakes or a little hot sauce with the cream cheese for a nice spicy boost that won’t take over the other flavors.

→ Do I need to soften the cream cheese first?

Soft cream cheese blends better with ranch and spices, making the filling smooth and creamy all the way through.

→ Is wrapping the bread in foil necessary when baking?

Wrapping keeps the heat even and the filling moist. Take off the foil near the end so the crust gets nice and crunchy.
