01 -
Pile fries onto four plates, using one quarter for each. Pour around 1/4 cup of cheese sauce on the top of each pile.
02 -
Splash 1 tablespoon of ranch across the fries and sprinkle a bit of the leftover spice mix over them.
03 -
Do the same with the rest of the fries, sauce, and ranch, so you finish up with three more plates.
04 -
Let the cheese sauce hang out over a low flame. If it looks too thick, just pour in a little more milk and stir it in.
05 -
In a tiny bowl, toss together black pepper, brown sugar, paprika, salt, onion powder, chili powder, and garlic powder.
06 -
Get those baking sheets lined with foil and sprayed up, then heat the oven to what the fry bag says.
07 -
Lay out the frozen fries in single layers on the trays. Hit them with most of the seasoning, but save about half a teaspoon for later.
08 -
Melt your butter in a medium skillet on low. Stir in the flour and keep moving it around for a minute or two till it's blond.
09 -
Keep whisking while you slowly pour in the milk. Stir until you've got a smooth mix.
10 -
Toss in the shredded cheddar in a few rounds, stirring each time until perfectly smooth and melted.
11 -
Give the fries a good toss to coat them, then add to the oven. Halfway through the bake, switch the trays around. Bake till crispy and golden, just as the fry pack says.
12 -
Dig in right away with more ranch, cheese sauce, or some ketchup for dipping on the side.
