Sausage Toast Rollups (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main

01 - 6 cooked breakfast sausage links
02 - 6 slices white bread, crusts taken off

→ Egg Mixture

03 - 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
05 - 1 teaspoon real vanilla extract
06 - 1/4 cup whole milk
07 - 2 big eggs

→ For Cooking and Serving

08 - Powdered sugar to sprinkle on top (optional)
09 - 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
10 - Maple syrup to pour on when serving

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Dish out the freshly made roll-ups while they're warm, then top with some maple syrup and a light dusting of powdered sugar if you want.
02 - Set the roll-ups into your hot skillet with the seam side facing down. Cook them, turning them now and then, so every edge gets nice and golden—expect about 6 to 8 minutes all together.
03 - After assembling, dunk each roll-up in the eggy mix to coat all over.
04 - Pop some unsalted butter in a non-stick skillet and let it melt over medium so it's all foamy.
05 - Mix up the eggs, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and sugar in a shallow bowl with a whisk so everything blends together.
06 - Put a sausage link at the end of each squished bread slice, then roll it all up tight so it wraps around the sausage.
07 - Grab a rolling pin and squash each slice of white bread flat until it's evenly pressed.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Squishy bread from yesterday makes it way easier to roll up and keeps it from falling apart.
02 - Try mixing it up with spicy or mild sausages, or toss in some thick ham slices instead if you feel like changing things up.
