Baked Glazed Apple Bites (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Fritter Batter

01 - About 240 grams peeled Honeycrisp apples, diced small (roughly 2 medium ones)
02 - Nonstick spray to keep things from sticking
03 - 120 milliliters plain applesauce
04 - 2 teaspoons cinnamon powder
05 - 57 grams melted unsalted butter
06 - 50 grams white sugar
07 - 0.5 teaspoon of fine kosher salt
08 - 190 grams of plain flour
09 - 1 big egg
10 - 2 teaspoons baking powder
11 - 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract

→ Apple Glaze

12 - About 100 milliliters apple juice or cider
13 - 240 grams powdered sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Spritz the baking tray with nonstick. Warm up your oven to 200°C.
02 - Stir up flour, cinnamon, baking powder, and salt in a mixing bowl so it all blends together.
03 - Mix melted butter with sugar in a big bowl. Crack in the egg and mix it in. Add applesauce and vanilla, keep mixing till you’ve got a smooth mix.
04 - Pour the dry mixture into the wet. Stir until just combined, then gently stir in the diced apples so they’re spread through.
05 - Drop tablespoon-sized scoops onto your sheet—give them some space. Let them bake for 10 minutes, then take out and prep the oven for a high broil.
06 - As things bake, mix the powdered sugar and apple juice or cider in a small bowl till you get a runny icing.
07 - Brush glaze over the baked bites—let any drip off. Pop the tray back in to broil for 2 to 4 minutes, turning the tray every minute or so. Watch closely so nothing burns.
08 - Give all the bites a last coat with the rest of your glaze. Let 'em set up on the baking tray for around 15 minutes so the icing firms up.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Want to make these ahead? Store cooled bites in something airtight at room temp for a couple days, or a week in the fridge. Warm them up before munching for the best texture.
