Get your oven hot at 400°F (200°C).

Coat a 9x9 baking dish with cooking spray.

Brown the ground chicken with diced onion and bell pepper in a big skillet over medium heat for about 5-6 minutes until the meat isn't pink anymore.

Stir in BBQ sauce and tomato sauce. Let it bubble up, then turn down the heat and simmer for 5 minutes.

Mix cornmeal, milk, flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, egg, and melted butter in a big bowl until the batter looks smooth.

Put the chicken mix in your baking dish first, sprinkle cheese all over it, then pour the cornbread batter on top.

Stick it in the hot oven for 30-35 minutes until you see the cornbread top turn a nice golden color.

Let it cool down for 5 minutes before you dish it up.
