Lightly dust chicken pieces with flour and shake off any extra before setting them on a plate.

Get your large skillet nice and hot with 2-3 tablespoons butter or oil over high heat.

Toss half your chicken into the hot pan and cook until golden on each side for about 3 minutes per side. Add salt and pepper while cooking.

Take out the first batch, add more fat if needed, and brown the remaining chicken pieces.

Put all your golden chicken into the crock pot.

Scatter the dry Italian mix and crushed garlic over your chicken.

Drizzle the chicken broth and lemon juice on top of everything.

Put the lid on and let it simmer on low for around 3 to 3 1/2 hours.
