Filipino Lumpia (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - Oil for frying
02 - 1/4 cup chopped cilantro (you can skip it if you want)
03 - 1 teaspoon sesame oil
04 - 1/2 teaspoon salt (taste and adjust)
05 - 1/2 teaspoon black pepper, ground
06 - 1 teaspoon soy sauce
07 - 3 minced garlic cloves
08 - 1/2 cup finely diced onion
09 - 1 cup chopped green beans
10 - 1 cup grated carrots
11 - 1 pound ground chicken or pork
12 - 1 pack spring roll wrappers (20-25 pieces)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Dump your meat, carrots, green beans, onion, garlic, soy sauce, black pepper, sesame oil, salt, and cilantro (if you want) into a big bowl. Get your hands in there and mash it all together until everything looks even.
02 - Lay out a wrapper so it looks like a diamond towards you. Spoon about two tablespoons of filling onto the bottom corner. Roll the wrapper snug around the filling till you’re halfway up. Fold each side over like an envelope and finish rolling tightly. Seal the last edge with a bit of water to stick. Do this until you run out of wrappers or filling.
03 - Fill your pan with around two inches of oil and set it over medium heat. Drop in a batch of rolls, leaving enough space so they don’t bump into each other. Let them fry for 4 to 5 minutes till they’re crispy and golden all over.
04 - Once those rolls turn golden, use a slotted spoon to pull them out. Toss 'em onto a plate that's covered with paper towels so any extra oil drips off.
05 - Grab them while they’re still hot. Dunk into sweet chili sauce or even vinegar if that’s your thing.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Don’t stuff the wrappers too much or they’ll leak or go soggy while frying.
