Turkey with Peppers Mix (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

01 - 1 lb ground turkey
02 - 1 tbsp olive oil
03 - 1 small onion, chopped
04 - 3 bell peppers (green, red, or yellow), cut into strips
05 - 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
06 - 1 tsp smoked paprika
07 - 1 tsp ground cumin
08 - ½ tsp chili powder (skip if you don't like heat)
09 - ½ tsp salt (adjust to your liking)
10 - ½ tsp black pepper
11 - ¼ cup low-sodium chicken broth
12 - 1 tbsp tomato paste
13 - 1 tbsp soy sauce or coconut aminos
14 - Juice of ½ lime (adds a nice zing)
15 - Handful of cilantro or parsley to top

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Warm up the olive oil in a big skillet on medium heat. Toss in your chopped onions and let them cook until they're soft and clear, about 3 minutes. Add your chopped garlic and stir for another 30 seconds until you can smell it.
02 - Drop the ground turkey into your pan. Break it into tiny bits with your spoon. Keep cooking until it's no longer pink, around 5-6 minutes.
03 - Toss in your smoked paprika, cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper. Mix well so the turkey gets coated with all the spices. Throw in your bell pepper strips and stir everything together. Let the peppers cook for 3-4 minutes until they're a bit soft but still crispy.
04 - Add the chicken broth, tomato paste, and soy sauce to the mix. Stir everything well and let it bubble gently for 2-3 minutes so all the flavors can come together.
05 - Cut the heat and squeeze your lime juice over everything for some fresh flavor. Sprinkle with your chopped herbs. Serve right away by itself or with something on the side.

# Additional Tips:

01 - The meal tastes awesome right away but works great for packed lunches too.
02 - You can make it more or less spicy depending on what you like.
03 - Want it more saucy? Just add a bit more tomato sauce or chicken broth.
04 - Got leftovers? Turn them into taco filling, mix with rice, or stuff inside a baked potato for a totally new meal.
