Get your oven hot at 350°F (175°C). Coat a 9×13 inch pan with grease.

Use a bowl to mix room temperature cream cheese with white sugar until you get a smooth mix.

Add eggs one by one, making sure each is fully mixed in before adding the next.

Mix in the fresh lemon juice and grated peel until everything's well combined.

In a separate bowl, stir together the lemon cake mix with water and oil until smooth with no lumps.

Add the cake mix on top of your cheese mixture in the pan. Don't stir them together – they'll form nice layers on their own.

Stick it in the oven for about 40-45 minutes. It's done when the top looks golden and a toothpick comes out clean from the middle.

Let your cake sit for 10-15 minutes before you cut into it.
