Cheesy Taco Skillet (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
02 - 2 cups shredded Mexican-blend cheese
03 - 1 cup salsa
04 - 1 cup frozen corn
05 - 1 can (15 ounces) black beans, drained and rinsed
06 - 1 can (10 ounces) Rotel diced tomatoes with green chilies
07 - 1 packet taco seasoning
08 - 1 small onion, diced
09 - 1 pound ground beef or ground turkey

→ Suggested Toppings

10 - Chopped cilantro for on top (use if you like)
11 - Sliced green onions to add at the end (optional)
12 - Sliced jalapeños for a kick (optional)
13 - Diced avocado on the side (optional)
14 - Sour cream for the table (optional)

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Take your skillet out of the oven, let everything chill for a couple minutes, add any toppings you want, then dig in while it's hot.
02 - Now move the skillet into your hot oven. Let it cook for about 10 to 12 minutes, just until you see that cheese melt and start bubbling.
03 - Sprinkle those crushed tortilla chips all over the top, then pile on the last cup of cheese.
04 - Kill the heat, then stir in one cup of your shredded cheese until it looks all mixed in.
05 - Dump in the taco seasoning, the diced tomatoes and green chilies, black beans, corn, and salsa. Stir it up good, and let it all get hot for 5 minutes.
06 - Set your oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Brown the ground meat and onion together, stir a lot, and cook until there's no pink left. If you see extra grease, pour it out.
07 - Crank your oven up to 375°F (that’s about 190°C) before you start anything else.

# Additional Tips:

01 - A cast iron pan gives you steady heat and makes it simple to slide from the stove right into the oven.
02 - Feel free to make it lighter by swapping beef with turkey.
