Cranberry Sugar Coating (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Sugared Cranberries

01 - 3 cups fresh cranberries
02 - 1 cup water
03 - 2 cups granulated sugar

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Pour 1 cup water and 1 cup granulated sugar into a medium pot. Heat on medium-high, stirring until sugar completely melts and mixture starts bubbling.
02 - Take the pot off the heat when bubbling starts. Dump in all cranberries and mix them around so every berry gets covered in the hot syrup.
03 - Take out all cranberries with a slotted spoon and spread them on a baking sheet covered with parchment paper. Wait about 1 hour for them to dry out.
04 - When the hour's up, put the sticky berries in a big bowl. Sprinkle the other cup of sugar over them and roll them around gently until they're fully coated.
05 - Lift the sugar-coated cranberries out with your slotted spoon, giving them a gentle shake to drop off any loose sugar. Lay them on a fresh sheet of parchment paper.
06 - Let your sugary berries sit for another 30 minutes before you pack them away in a sealed container and stick them in the fridge.

# Additional Tips:

01 - You can keep the leftover syrup after taking out the cranberries. Just strain it and store it in the fridge to add to cocktails later.
02 - Any extra sugar can be dried out on parchment, turned pink, and used again to dress up desserts or rim your cocktail glasses.
03 - You might only need about 1/3 cup of sugar for a good coating, especially with smaller berries, which cuts down on waste.
