Cheeseburger Bombs (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Ingredients

01 - 1 package frozen dinner rolls, makes 24 pieces
02 - 1/2 pound American cheese, block style
03 - 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
04 - 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
05 - 1 large egg, beaten
06 - 1 pound ground beef
07 - 1/3 cup dill pickles, finely chopped
08 - 1/3 cup white onion, minced very small
09 - 1/2 teaspoon salt
10 - 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
11 - Sesame seeds, sprinkle on top

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Set out the frozen dough balls and give them time to thaw per the package until they're soft and stretchy.
02 - Heat your oven up to 375°F (190°C). Get a rimmed baking tray lined with parchment and ready to go.
03 - Toss the ground beef, onion powder, garlic salt, onion, dill pickles, salt, and pepper in a big bowl. Stir everything together so the flavors are all over.
04 - Slice your cheese block into 24 little cubes, about a half-inch each. Break the beef mix into 24 balls, flatten each, put a cheese chunk inside, then squish the meat shut around it into a ball.
05 - Get a skillet hot over medium-high. Brown those meat-stuffed balls on every side just until they're lightly crisp but not fully cooked inside. Move them off the heat.
06 - Dust your counter with a little flour. Stretch each thawed dough ball into a flat round big enough for your meatball. Plop a browned meatball in the middle. Fold the dough over it, pinch it shut on the bottom, and put it seam-down on the tray you prepped.
07 - Swipe each dough ball with beaten egg, then shake on a bunch of sesame seeds so they stick.
08 - Pop the tray in your oven. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until the outside is golden, crispy, and the bread is baked through.
09 - Dig in while they're hot, and don't forget some Big Mac-ish sauce or whatever dip you like best.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Browning meatballs first boosts the taste and helps keep the bread from getting soggy.
02 - Chopping onions and pickles really small means every bite's got the same feel.
03 - American cheese is classic, but cheddar's okay too if you want to swap it.
