Pancake Sausage Bake (Printable Version)

# What You'll Need:

→ Main Components

01 - Cooking spray or some soft butter for the baking dish
02 - 115 g cheddar cheese, shredded (if you want)
03 - 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon powder (optional)
04 - 2 tablespoons maple syrup, pure, your call
05 - 2 tablespoons butter, melted
06 - 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
07 - 1 large egg
08 - 240 ml whole milk
09 - 240 g pancake mix
10 - 450 g mild or spicy breakfast sausage

# Steps to Follow:

01 - Wait about 5 minutes so things settle down, cut it up, then grab a slice. If you're feeling it, pour on some more maple syrup and dig in while it's still warm.
02 - Slide your dish into the oven and bake on the middle rack for 25–30 minutes. It's done when the top's a dark golden and a toothpick poked in the center comes out clean.
03 - Now, pour in half of your pancake batter and spread it out. Drop on all the cooked sausage and scatter cheese over if that's your thing. Top it off with the rest of the batter so everything's covered up good.
04 - Grab a big bowl and toss in pancake mix, milk, the egg, vanilla, melted butter, maple syrup, and a bit of cinnamon if you like. Give it a quick whisk together just enough so you still see some lumps. Don't go wild mixing.
05 - Heat up your skillet on medium, toss in the sausage, and break it into bites as it cooks. When it's brown all over, pour off the extra grease.
06 - Rub some soft butter or spray over your 23x33 cm baking dish. Make sure you cover the bottom and sides so nothing sticks.
07 - Crank your oven up to 190°C and let it get fully hot before you start anything else.

# Additional Tips:

01 - Don't stir the pancake batter too much or it'll get dense. For fluffier bites, keep your mixing light and easy.
